Artificial Quartz: Durable, Stain-Resistant Engineered Quartz Surfaces

Overview of Artificial Quartz

Quartz countertops are often called manmade or engineered quartz because they are made from 100% natural quartz, combined with non-toxic resin binder. Because of its uniform appearance and coloration, superior resistance to stains, abrasions, and heat, this surface is perfect for kitchens and bathrooms. It's very easy to clean, lasts a long time, and can be used on all types of commercial and residential projects. Additionally, engineered quartz usually contains recycled material and is considered an environmentally-friendly material.

Advantages of Artificial Quartz

Exceptional Durability

The engineered quartz product provides durability to withstand scratches, impacts, and regular use which results in a clean surface for both kitchen and high traffic areas, along with consistent performance over a broad temperature range and varied applications.

Non-Porous and Stain-Resistant

Because the surface is non-porous, liquids will not penetrate the material and produce high levels of stain resistance to coffee, wine, oil and citrus. In general, surfaces are easy to clean, and the color, pattern and sanitary condition of the product will be throughout its lifespan.

Consistent Color and Pattern

Artificial quartz is produced to exact tolerances providing consistency in color and pattern across all slabs to eliminate visible seams and mismatches. A collaborative design style can be achieved using both traditional and modern styles, creating mosaic designs, borders and countertops that produce consistent results.

Low Maintenance and Cleanability

After installing, artificial quartz only needs simple maintenance. Most residue can be removed with a quick wipe down, and no cleaners can damage the surface. The non-porous nature of artificial quartz prevents bacteria from growing, providing a good hygiene level for houses and businesses.

Artificial Quartz

Quartz is a manufactured stone made from very small pieces of natural quartz that are glued together and provide a solid, non-porous surface. The properties of quartz give it strength and uniformity, which allows for larger pieces to be used as high-traffic countertops, walls, or flooring. In addition, quartz has many colors and patterns available; therefore, providing an everlasting beautiful product with little maintenance. There are also many properties of quartz that allow for resistance to stains, heat, and scratches for decades.

F&Q About Artificial Quartz

What is artificial quartz?

Artificial quartz is an engineered stone formed by mixing natural quartz with adhesive resin resulting in durable, water-resistant surfaces. Artificial quartz provides consistent colors, patterns, and performance characteristics for use as counters in both home and business environments.
The nonporous composition of this product is resistant to most stains from food and drink products with exception of extreme heat. As for resilient heat, the resin matrix will provide excellent clean-up through wipe-up with standard cleaning products.
Under typical circumstances, engineered quartz is resistant to scratches. However, you should refrain from cutting on sharp objects because they will dull your edge. Heavy objects dropped onto your laboratory counters can chip them. Protect your surface by using cutting boards/trivets and taking proper care of it on a regular basis (by cleaning and polishing).
Use warm soapy water or a mild cleaning product to clean. Do not use an acidic or abrasive cleaning product or dishwashing soap when cleaning since these can dull the surface. Wipe up accidental spills immediately. Use a soft cloth for this purpose. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines as to sealant(s) used, if applicable.
